Terms of Use

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Welcome to VetDiscounts.org. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of this website (the “Site”), which is operated by VetDiscounts, doing business as VetDiscounts.org (“VetDiscounts,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy at vetdiscounts.org/privacy.

  1. 1. Acceptance of these Terms

    1.1 Agreement. By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

    1.2 Changes. We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted here, and the date above shows the latest revision. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply to a donation already made.

    1.3 Eligibility. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site and at least 18 years old to make a donation. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you submit any information.

  2. 2. About the Site

    2.1 Informational site. The Site shares information about VetDiscounts and its programs, lets you join our mailing list or contact our team, and lets you donate through a donation form provided by Givebutter. It has no member accounts or logins.

    2.2 The full platform is not live. The VetDiscounts platform, including member accounts, service verification, and the verified discount directory, is not yet available. It will have its own terms and privacy policy, and you will need to accept them separately when it launches.

    2.3 Plans are not promises. Descriptions of programs, features, funds, and launch timing on the Site describe our current plans. They are in development, may change, and may be delayed or discontinued. Nothing on the Site is an offer, a guarantee of any benefit, a promise that any particular business will offer a discount, or a promise that any person will be approved for any program or grant.

  3. 3. Using the Site

    3.1 Acceptable use. You agree not to:

    • submit false information, or sign up someone else without their permission;
    • use the Site for any unlawful purpose, including making a donation with a payment method you are not authorized to use;
    • send spam, malware, or harmful, harassing, or infringing content through our forms;
    • scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Site by automated means, or try to get around bot protection or other security measures; or
    • interfere with the operation or security of the Site or access parts of it that you are not authorized to access.

    3.2 Our rights. We may block access, remove submissions, decline or refund a donation, or stop operating any part of the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe these Terms have been broken, a donation is fraudulent, or to protect the Site or others.

  4. 4. Your submissions and feedback

    4.1 What you send us. When you use our forms or email us, you confirm that the information you give is accurate and that you have the right to give it to us.

    4.2 Sensitive information. Please do not send Social Security numbers, military service records, medical or benefits information, or government ID numbers through the Site. We do not ask for them here.

    4.3 License to use feedback. If you send us ideas, comments, suggestions, or other feedback about VetDiscounts, the Site, or our programs (“Feedback”), you give us a free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, copy, modify, and build on that Feedback for our nonprofit purposes, without owing you payment, credit, or any other obligation. This does not give us the right to use your personal information in ways that go beyond our Privacy Policy.

  5. 5. Newsletter and beta program interest

    5.1 Newsletter. If you join our mailing list, you agree to receive emails from us about VetDiscounts. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

    5.2 Beta interest is not enrollment. Checking the beta program box tells us you are interested. It does not enroll you, guarantee you a place, or create any obligation for either of us. Beta participants will be asked to agree to separate written beta terms before getting access, which will cover use of pre-release features, confidentiality, and feedback.

  6. 6. Resources and no professional advice

    6.1 Information only. Content on the Site is general information. It is not legal, tax, financial, medical, mental health, or benefits advice, and it does not create a professional relationship with you. Check eligibility rules and details with the official source before you rely on them.

    6.2 Not an emergency service. VetDiscounts does not provide crisis, emergency, or counseling services, and we do not monitor messages sent through the Site for emergencies. If you are in crisis or may harm yourself or someone else, call or text 988 (Veterans press 1), or call 911 for an emergency. Do not use our contact form for emergencies.

    6.3 Third-party links. The Site links to outside resources, such as crisis lines and government benefit sites, for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or availability, and a link is not an endorsement.

  7. 7. Donations and sponsorships

    7.1 How giving works. Donations made on the Site are processed by Givebutter and its payment processors. When you donate, Givebutter’s terms of service and privacy policy also apply to your transaction. We are not responsible for Givebutter’s or a payment processor’s services, errors, or outages, but we will help you resolve any problem with a gift made to us.

    7.2 Optional tips and fees. Givebutter may invite you to add an optional tip to Givebutter or to cover processing fees. A tip to Givebutter goes to Givebutter, not to VetDiscounts, and is not a contribution to VetDiscounts. You can set the tip to zero. If you choose to cover processing fees, that amount is added to your gift.

    7.3 Recurring donations. If you set up a recurring donation, you authorize the charge of the amount you chose on the schedule you chose until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the link in your Givebutter receipt or by emailing howdy@vetdiscounts.org. Cancellation stops future charges and does not refund charges already made.

    7.4 Refunds. Donations are generally final. If you made a mistake, such as a wrong amount or a duplicate gift, email howdy@vetdiscounts.org within 30 days of the charge and we will review your request in good faith. Refunds are at our discretion, are issued to the original payment method, and may not include fees or tips kept by Givebutter or a payment processor.

    7.5 Receipts. Givebutter emails a receipt on our behalf after each donation. Please keep it for your tax records.

    7.6 Use of donations. We use donations to carry out our charitable mission. If you direct a gift to a specific program, we will use it for that program where we reasonably can. If that program changes, is delayed, or ends, we may use the gift for a related purpose consistent with our mission. Once received, donations are the property of VetDiscounts and are subject to the oversight of our board of directors.

    7.7 Nonprofit status. VetDiscounts is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit, EIN 42-3705643. Contributions to VetDiscounts may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. This is not tax advice, so please check with your own tax adviser.

    7.8 Sponsorships. Corporate sponsorships are governed by separate written agreements. Sponsorship does not affect listings, rankings, or verification decisions.

  8. 8. Intellectual property

    8.1 Our content. The VetDiscounts.org name, logo, text, graphics, and design are owned by VetDiscounts or its licensors and are protected by law. You may view and share links to the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or reuse our content or marks without our written permission.

    8.2 Reporting concerns. If you believe content on the Site infringes your rights, write to us at the address in Section 14 with enough detail for us to find and review it.

  9. 9. Disclaimer

    The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Information about programs and resources is provided in good faith but may be incomplete, out of date, or change without notice. We do not promise that the Site or the donation form will be uninterrupted or error-free.

  10. 10. Limitation of liability

    10.1 Exclusion. To the fullest extent permitted by law, VetDiscounts and its directors, officers, volunteers, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, or from your reliance on its content.

    10.2 Cap. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of one hundred dollars ($100) or the amount of the donation that the claim concerns.

    10.3 Exceptions. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

  11. 11. Your responsibility

    You agree to be responsible for losses, claims, and costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that arise from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site, to the extent permitted by law.

  12. 12. Resolving disputes

    12.1 Talk to us first. If you have a problem with the Site, a donation, or these Terms, please email us at howdy@vetdiscounts.org with a description of the issue. Both of us will try in good faith to resolve it informally for at least 30 days before either starts a court case.

    12.2 Governing law and venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you and we consent to those courts’ jurisdiction.

  13. 13. General

    13.1 Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site. Givebutter’s terms separately govern your relationship with Givebutter.

    13.2 Severability. If a part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

    13.3 No waiver. If we do not enforce a right right away, we have not given it up.

    13.4 No assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to a successor organization.
